127V 60HZ Electric Shaded Pole Motor Single Phase Asynchronous
Shaded Pole Electric Motor Air Fryer Oven motor YJ61-200 127V 60HZ custom printed
The cowl pole motor is the original type of AC single-phase induction motor, dating back to at least as early as 1890. The cowl pole motor is a mouse cage type motor in which the auxiliary windings consist of a copper ring or rod around a portion of each pole. When single-phase AC power is applied to the stator windings, a rotating magnetic field is generated by providing a shield for the magnetic poles. This auxiliary single-turn winding is called shading coil. The current induced by a magnetic field in the coil creates a second electrical phase by delaying the phase. The flux variation in the pole (the shadow pole) is sufficient to provide a two-phase rotating magnetic field. The direction of rotation is from the unshaded side of the bar to the shaded (ring) side.
